Patrick Nooren, Ph.D.
This 1-hour recorded webinar is a primer for the full EEO Statistics Bootcamp that Dr. Patrick Nooren and Dr. Dan Biddle will be presenting at the 2013 ILG National Conferencein July. If you’re interested in learning more and are attending the 2013 ILG National Conference, make sure to attend Patrick and Dan’s full, hands on, EEO Statistics Bootcamp on July 30th.
This summer’s NILG “EEO Statistics Bootcamp” will be presented in two sessions:
Session #1:
Date: July 30, 2013, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Title: “EEO Statistics Bootcamp 1 –Incumbency v Availability (with New Census Data) and Conducting Adverse Impact Analyses (the Right Way)” presented by Dan Biddle, Ph.D. and Patrick Nooren, Ph.D.
Description: Two of the primary metrics included in an AAP are comparisons of incumbency to availability, and adverse impact analyses. However, when was the last time you really thought about all of the detailed nuances involved in each of these analyses. Are you using the right census data? Labor area(s)? Factor weights? What about adverse impact analyses . . . do analyses accurately reflect how decisions were made (i.e., reality), or are you simply combining all applicants and hires for a given job group into a single analysis? This presentation is designed for the new AAP developer as well as the seasoned veteran who is interested in brainstorming ways to improve the accuracy of their plan metrics.
Session #2:
Date: July 30, 2013, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Title: “EEO Statistics Bootcamp 2 – How to Investigate Compensation Disparities as Well as an Overview of Logistic Regression (i.e., What to do When There is Adverse Impact, But You know the Difference is Related to Legitimate Applicant Differences)”presented by Dan Biddle, Ph.D. and Patrick Nooren, Ph.D.

Dan Biddle, Ph.D.
Description: With the release of OFCCP’s Directive 307, it has never been more important for contractors to understand how to investigate compensation differences, proactively, within their own organizations. While other presenters will be discussing 307 and its impact on employers, Dan and Patrick will be taking a different approach by discussing how employers should actually be conducting proactive compensation analyses. From “eyeball” analyses to full-blown regression, if you are thinking about conducting proactive compensation analyses, you will not want to miss this. Lastly, this session will also include a very high-level discussion of logistic regression, the little used and much-less understood statistical procedure that could be the difference between a painful finding of discrimination and complete vindication. While you may think this session is intended for the advanced practitioner, Dan and Patrick have broken the concepts down so that all levels of practitioners are welcome.
