Kit Carson International Academy, located in midtown Sacramento, held their annual Career Day on May 25, 2018. Nina Le-Tse and Marife (Fe) Ramos were honored to have been invited to share their experiences as [once upon a time] high school students and how those experiences shaped their paths in college and into their current profession. Fe and Nina had the opportunity to talk to students (who sometimes gather in groups) one-on-one, listen to their college/career plans, and encourage them to continually work hard and focus on their goals.
Nina and Fe also presented to a class of graduating seniors on the topic of “Building a Resume and Preparing for a Job Interview.” It is a reality that these young individuals will soon be entering a different phase in their lives. While a number of them will continue their lifeā€™s journey through college, some will possibly have to put school aside and make getting a job a priority in their lives, while still others will balance school and a job. It was therefore very important for Fe and Nina, as presenters, to ensure that everybody left with some practical ways, ideas, and recommendations on how to create the best possible impression of themselves to prospective employers and/or to colleges/universities.
“It was definitely a rewarding experience for both me and Nina,” says Fe. “We hope that our individual education and career journeys and the practical recommendations we provided in our presentation will have a positive impact in shaping these studentsā€™ future.
