We had another wonderful day at the ILG National Conference! Via telecast, we heard from OFCCP Director Patricia Shiu (watch her message online here<\/a>) and\u00a0Jacquelin Berrien of the EEOC. In addition to attending great workshops and visiting with colleagues, we chose our raffle winners!<\/p>\n

2012 NILG Opening Ceremony with Lily Ledbetter<\/p><\/div>\n

Our team enjoyed a very full Wednesday at the ILG National Conference. The day started with the opening ceremonies where we watched traditional Hawaiian dancing and heard from fantastic speakers. We were \u00a0excited to listen to Lily Ledbetter share \u00a0“one woman’s fight, a country’s new law.”<\/p>\n

Throughout the day we attended several presentations and are looking forward to applying what we learned to our AAP consulting.<\/p>\n

Policy Division Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Debra Carr from the Division of Policy, Planning and Program Development spoke. \u00a0Her video conference session was well attended by the industry’s lead attorneys, consultants and senior industry professionals. \u00a0While Ms. Carr was unable to provide feedback regarding several pending changes to the regulations, she did affirm that the OFCCP is making continued efforts to become more efficient and provide better assistance to Federal Contractors.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

      • 1 in 4 audits currently end in a conciliation agreement<\/li>\n
      • Only 3 violations related to terminations since 2004; 5 related to promotions; 451 related to hiring; 76 related to compensation.<\/li>\n
      • In 2011:\u00a01109 of 4008 compliance evaluations ended in a conciliation agreement –\u00a0638 based on outreach\/recruitment and\u00a0376 based in record keeping<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n

        We’ve said it before, but in addition to all that we learn at the NILG, we really value connecting face-to-face with colleagues. We went to lunch with a few clients today. As you can see from the slideshow below, the Hilton Waikoloa provided a fantastic venue for our \u00a0meal. Our booth, too, was (and will be all week) a great place to meet up with friends in the industry. Our Test Validation 101 workshop, led by Patrick \u00a0and Heather, was another fantastic opportunity to connect. We really appreciate the opportunity\u00a0to not only learn from others in the industry but to give back to the EEO community as well.<\/p>\n
