The Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) recently announced that the threshold requiring federal contractors to file VETS-4212 reports has been increased from $100,000 to $150,000. This change will be in effect starting with the 2016 filing year, which begins on August 1. It should be noted that the threshold for contractors who are continuing to file their 2015 VETS-4212 reports remains at $100,000
The increase to the $150,000 filing threshold is the result of the requirements published by the Federal Acquisition Regulatory (FAR) Council in October 2015 and also affects the contract threshold requiring federal contractors and subcontractors to prepare an Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) for Protected Veterans.
Needless to say, contractors should review the amounts of their federal contracts and subcontracts to confirm if they still meet the requirements to file VETS-4212 reports and prepare AAPs for Protected Veterans.
